Looking “Vicious" With Young & Reckless x Dennis Morris Capsule Collection

What I’m wearing for fall shows…

As temps cool down and leaves change color, 2015 festival season officially comes to a close. But all that means for a real live music lover is that the party moves indoors. While there may be no more large-scale outdoor festivals stateside until early Spring, major artists are kicking off — and continuing — nationwide tours in arenas and concert halls near you. Surely your flimsy fest wear need not apply when there’s the first hints of frost in the air…so what’s a girl to wear?

In steps Young & Reckless — the skater/streetwear brand started by Chris “Drama” Pfaff (whom I, of course, recall from years of extensive viewing of “Rob & Big” and “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory”). The brand recently did a collaboration with legendary music/tour photographer Dennis Morris, featuring some of his most iconic shots of Sid Vicious captured on-tour with the Sex Pistols in 1978. Morris made history not only with his highly recognizable snaps of music legends but by defying odds by even becoming a photographer in the 1970’s Great Britain — after blatantly being told that wasn’t a job for Black people.

Naturally, this collection is something I was immediately interested in. Fortunately, it’s super cute and perfect base-pieces for concert wear. Each tee was made to look vintage, through bleaching, tie-dye or burnout washing effect, so it pairs well with a lot of things I already own. I played with a couple concert-ready looks with the collection and I’ve gotta say, I’m super pleased with the outcome! You can grab pieces from the Sid Vicious collection HERE.

I’m actually thinking of rocking one of these looks when I hit up The Weeknd’s The Madness Fall Tour in a couple weeks…so hopefully, no one going to the show looks at these.

I’m loving the look of this simple Sid photo tee with my fave American Apparel Easy Jeans. Simple, comfortable, but just chic enough.

This “Double Exposure” top features a photo Morris snapped of one of the first times Sid smoked heroine. It’s actually a pretty powerful shot — feels like wearing art. But…all that heavy shit aside, I love how well it pairs with this 21 Men olive bomber and black skinnies from Ralph Lauren.

As for look #3…

I paired the bleach-out tee — featuring a collage of several Sid pics and punk inspo — with a pair of AEO artist jeans I cut into bermudas, the same olive bomber, and some Sam Edelman ankle-strap peep-toes for more of a casual concert date vibe.

I’m definitely not a big branded tee girl anymore — I did my time in PacSun and Hot Topic back in the Myspace days — but I have to say I’m extra pleased with this collection. Did you like these looks? Is Y&R x Dennis Morris something you’d cop? Let me know in the comments!
